The Roborock Saros 20 Sonic is an advanced robot vacuum and mop designed to provide powerful, automated cleaning across hard floors, carpets, edges, corners, and low-clearance areas. It combines 36,000Pa HyperForce suction, VibraRise 5.0 sonic mopping, intelligent obstacle recognition, and the multifunctional RockDock for a more complete hands-free cleaning experience.
Its slim 7.98cm body allows the robot to clean beneath sofas, beds, cabinets, and other low furniture. The RetractSense navigation system lowers the LiDAR module when additional clearance is needed while maintaining accurate mapping and navigation throughout the home.
The high-performance digital motor generates up to 36,000Pa of suction power, helping remove fine dust, crumbs, pet hair, and larger debris from hard floors and carpets. The brush stabilization system keeps the main brush properly positioned against the floor, improving debris pickup and carpet-cleaning performance.
The AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 can intelligently adjust the robot’s height and cleaning components to suit different floor types and obstacles.
The upgraded VibraRise 5.0 mopping system uses up to 4,000 vibrations per minute and applies 14N of downward pressure to help remove dried spills and stubborn stains. Its extendable mop reaches closer to walls, corners, and furniture edges for more complete floor coverage.
When carpet is detected, the robot can automatically lift its mop to help prevent carpets from becoming wet. This allows the Saros 20 Sonic to vacuum carpets and mop hard floors during the same cleaning cycle.
The DuoDivide main brush and FlexiArm side brush work together to reduce hair wrapping and interruptions. Roborock states that the system is designed to handle hair measuring up to approximately 40cm in length, making it suitable for homes with pets or people with long hair.
The extendable side brush also moves outward when necessary to collect debris from corners and along wall edges.
The Reactive AI 3.0 obstacle-recognition system combines an RGB camera, tri-laser structured light, and a VertiBeam side laser. This sensing system helps the robot identify objects, avoid obstacles, recognize items positioned close to walls, and plan safer cleaning routes.
VertiBeam lateral structured light expands the robot’s side-facing detection area, helping it identify slim objects and obstacles that conventional front-facing sensors may miss.
DirTect technology uses the robot’s RGB camera to identify areas with heavier dirt or visible stains. When additional cleaning is required, the robot can automatically perform a more intensive cleaning routine in the affected area. This feature must be enabled through the AI Laboratory section of the Roborock app.
At only 79.8mm high, the Roborock Saros 20 Sonic can access areas beneath low furniture that taller robot vacuums may not reach. Its RetractSense system allows the LiDAR sensor to retract when entering restricted spaces before extending again for navigation in open areas.
The AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 helps the robot move across door sills, sliding-door tracks, and other raised surfaces. It can cross single thresholds measuring up to 4.5cm and suitable double-layer thresholds measuring up to 4.5cm plus 4.3cm.

The dock can wash the mop using water heated to up to 100°C. It also uses air heated to approximately 55°C to dry the mop, dust bag, and internal dust path, helping reduce retained moisture and unwanted odors.
Its independent mop-washing system can clean the detached mop pad inside the dock while the robot continues vacuuming.
Roborock SmartPlan 3.0 learns from previous cleaning routines and automatically selects suitable cleaning settings for different rooms. It can adjust factors such as suction strength, cleaning sequence, and mopping intensity based on the mapped environment and cleaning history.
Users can also create cleaning schedules, establish no-go zones, divide rooms, select specific cleaning areas, and customize floor-cleaning settings through the Roborock app.
The integrated voice assistant responds to the “Hello Rocky” wake command and can perform supported cleaning commands without requiring a Wi-Fi connection. The Saros 20 Sonic is also Matter-enabled for integration with compatible smart-home platforms.
A large 6,400mAh battery provides up to approximately 180 minutes of operation in balanced vacuum-and-mop mode under Roborock’s testing conditions. The robot can recharge from 15% to 100% in approximately 2.5 hours before automatically continuing an unfinished cleaning task.
